With the peak summer vacation season here, the Korean government has announced special transportation measures for international tourists. The number of operations and seat availability for all public transport, including express buses, trains, and flights, has significantly increased. This means travelers visiting Korea this summer can explore the country more comfortably.
Summer Peak Season: Your Guide to Korea's Public Transport
The special transportation measures period runs from July 25th to August 10th. During this time, major public transport options in Korea—express and intercity buses, trains, flights, and ferries—will operate more frequently, making travel more convenient for you.
π Express & Intercity Buses: Your Hub for Land Travel
Express Buses: Operations for express buses, which normally run 57,426 times, will increase to 71,043 times, a 23.7% rise. A total of 13,617 additional services will be added, providing around 540,000 more seats. Securing a seat will be much easier!
Intercity Buses: Intercity bus operations, usually at 221,350 times, will increase to 247,288 times, an 11.7% rise. A total of 25,938 additional services will be added, providing around 897,000 more seats.
π Trains (Including KTX, SRT): For Fast & Pleasant Journeys
Train services, which normally run 14,100 times, will increase to 14,196 times, a rise of about 0.7%. A total of 96 additional services will be added, providing around 68,000 more seats. Specifically, additional services will operate on key routes for KTX, SRT, and regular trains, helping to ease congestion and improve accessibility in certain areas.

Flight operations, usually at 30,566 times, will increase to 33,869 times, a 10.8% rise. A total of 3,303 additional services will be added, providing around 695,000 more seats. This positively impacts both entry into Korea and domestic travel, helping you plan your trip with greater flexibility.
